{About Me}

Hi. I'm Laura, and I'm so glad you're here!

What's going on here?
This blog is a place for me to share my creative adventures. I post art, crafts, DIY and share recipes. I'm always working on something and I would love to share it with you!

Who's this chick?
I am a thirty something wife and mom to three crazy kids ages 16, 12 and 8. I love to spend time with my family, photography, reading, fitness, bargain shopping and ALL things crafty! I have been interested in art since I could hold a crayon and I enjoy doing anything from crochet to home improvement projects. I grew up in NY and then attended art school for a short time, majoring in interior design. I soon realized my heart wasn't really into that career path. Instead of changing majors, I dropped out to join the military. My husband and I met while we were in the Air Force. I get asked this a lot because after people see us together they are baffled how we ever ended up together. We are total opposites, but it just works for us. We have been married 17 years and currently live in Colorado.

How the blog got started...
A couple years ago I made a bunch of crochet hats as gifts and posted them on Facebook for my friends and family to see. Everyone kept saying I should try and sell them. After seeing their enthusiasm, I began to think I might just give it a try. My blog started as a platform to do just that. I had a plan...get my blog going, get some followers through Facebook and Pinterest, then try to lure as many people as I can by showing my craftiness and yummy food. After I got their attention...BAM! I was going to open my shop, make mad money and hopefully get a call from the Today Show wanting to do a story about my crazy overnight success. Yeah right!  My Etsy Shop opened in October 2013 and I drive myself crazy trying to balance that and adding fun, new content to my blog. I've been working on my blog for over three years now and I enjoy learning something new every chance I get.

  1. I just happened upon this site..and saw the blue bear. I read you didn't write the pattern but has it become available to purchase since that was posted? I would very much like to try making it for my great-grandson.
    Thank you Laura.

    1. No, I have not published the pattern anywhere. I am keeping for my own personal use at this time.
