If you want to give a unique and meaningful gift, you can't go wrong with handmade!
This afghan and amigurumi bunny set is for my soon to arrive niece or nephew. I've always wanted to try a star afghan and as soon as I saw this new pattern book for amigurumi animals, there was no doubt I was trying one of those too!
Since seven has long been believed to be a lucky or magical number, I was absolutely set on making a seven point star. Unfortunately for me, there are limited patterns to choose from. I ended up finding a pattern in a book called Geometrics: A New Way To Crochet, by Ruthie Marks. I followed the pattern except I did double crochet throughout instead of the front post double crochet it calls for.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog!

Thank you Rita! I actually had other colors all picked out but at the last minute I ran back to the store and exchanged them! If it didn't have to be gender neutral I probably would have gone in a totally different direction. Thanks for visiting.

ReplyDeleteI never do afghans because they take FOREVER! Boring or not I'm sure yours are beautiful and good for you for having the patience. I prefer the near instant gratification of smaller projects like hats but since this was for someone special I sucked it up;-) There's are tons of different star afghan patterns on Pinterest, good luck on yours. Thanks for stopping by!

ReplyDeleteDuring baby shower programs we are looking for beautiful and unique baby shower gifts. Therefore we are always looking over here and there that means retail shops, online shopping sites and many other places; apart from these places here also we have found some unique collection of baby gifts and I hope these are really wonderful and baby loves to have it. I was just wondering what techniques and people are using to prepare these kinds of baby gifts.
